About This Spot

Stepping into Café Ollama feels like finding a quiet nook tucked just off the bustling streets of Kansas City’s Westside neighborhood. The soft hum of conversation mixes with the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee, setting a steady, easy pace that invites you to slow down and savor the moment. Large windows frame views of the city’s gentle hills and passersby, creating a connection between the warmth inside and the vibrant world outside.

This coffee shop offers more than your typical cup; it’s a place where tradition and creativity mingle in every pour. From comforting sips of café de olla cold brew to the playful sweetness of a mazapán latte, each drink feels thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of discovery. Whether you lean toward the familiar warmth of abuelita chocolate or the bright notes of a Thai tea, there’s a quiet joy in trying something new or returning to a beloved favorite.

The atmosphere is comfortably lived-in, with baristas who know their craft and welcome both solo visitors seeking a calm start to the day and groups sharing easy, unhurried moments. Seasonal touches and subtle holiday decorations lend a cozy charm without overwhelming the simplicity that makes the space feel like a cherished neighborhood retreat.

Here, the experience extends beyond the beverages. Paired with delicate pan dulce or an apple fritter, each visit feels like a small ritual of connection—whether to the story behind the coffee or to the rhythms of city life seen through the café’s expansive windows. It’s a spot where familiarity and a touch of the unexpected coexist, inviting you back again and again to explore the layers of flavor and warmth nestled in every corner.

Love the warm, comfortable atmosphere here, and the unique drink menu offers plenty of options for coffee lovers. I personally LOVE the large picture window which allows you to watch the city move by with views into the hills of the Westside neighborhood. This is one of the best walking destination in the area. Meet a friend, or get caffeinated solo before a busy day!

We made a special trip to KC from Topeka to get our favorite moon cakes from Crown Center, and to try this place. WORTH IT! The cafe de olla was outstanding. My daughter had the La Primavera. It was like raspberry heaven. And the pan dulce was on point too. You gotta try it. This makes our list of favorite spots in KC for sure!

My friends and I popped in for a relaxing morning coffee for the holidays and had a wonderfully delicious experience. The coffee flights are divine and the holiday decor is oh so warm and cozy. The cafe is inviting and the baristas are top notch. Definitely make Cafe Ollama a stop on your to-do list when in Kansas City!

Café Ollama is a unique Kansas City coffeshop and a true gem! They have authentic Mexican coffee with really fun flavors. You won't be getting a basic vanilla latte here. We tried La Tia Rosa and the Chatita, both were excellent! We want to come back on a Tuesday to try their flights!

So excited when I find local gems. I'm not a fan of corporate coffee places and this place was so warm and the coffee was delicious. They have some amazing options. Looking forward to sharing with my community. Yummy

I ordered the café de olla and it was smooth with a gentle spice. the balance of sweetness and cinnamon made it really comforting. it felt special compared to a regular cup of coffee. the shop itself has a cozy vibe that makes you want to stay a while. the staff were kind and quick with the order. i’ll be coming back to make this my go to drink.
